  • BCN and Olympia-Verlag launch a partnership to deliver the joint print marketing of kicker and ALPIN

Since January 1, 2024, BCN has been marketing the portfolio of the publishers Hubert Burda Media, FUNKE Mediengruppe and Mediengruppe Klambt as a cross-media joint venture in advertising. The 3,000 + advertising customers are set to benefit from advertising environments with the print and digital brands with the widest reach in Germany. Now, with Olympia Verlag and the media brands – kicker and ALPIN – a new partner will be joining BCN and ensuring even greater reach among sports fans, especially among the younger and male target group. kicker was first published in 1920, and is one of Germany’s longest-running magazines.

“We are delighted that Olympia-Verlag has entered into a close-knit partnership with us with the aim of marketing print campaigns and facilitating their cross-media expansion. The timing for our cooperation couldn’t be better: 2024 will be dominated by the European Football Championships in Germany and the Summer Olympics in Paris. In what will be nothing short of a super sports year, we can offer our advertising customers an enormously successful environment underpinned by the media brand, kicker, for the first time. kicker represents an outstanding example of how the heritage of a strong print brand can develop into an equally successful digital brand. This environment fits in perfectly with BCN’s vision. We anticipate highly relevant concepts for the advertising market with which kicker’s primarily male target group can be reached. For us, the collaboration with Olympia-Verlag is a milestone on our way to becoming the largest cross-media marketer in Germany thanks to alliances in the advertising market.”
    Tobias ConradManaging Director BCN
“Our kicker brand has positioned itself extremely well in the digital realm, and we are now reaching almost 11 million people every month across all media. Simultaneously, we see the unbroken impact and importance of print as a medium, as was recently confirmed to us once more in the marketing efforts linked to the European Championships. BCN enjoys an excellent network in the market, as well as extensive expertise in traditional advertising marketing. This collaborative format opens up new ways of positioning our advertising portfolio even more effectively in the market in future.”

Programmatic Sales and Direct Sales for the Olympia-Verlag brands will remain in the hands of the marketing subsidiary, Quarter Media, as well as OV’s own sales team. The partnership is also complemented by kicker business solutions, the sports agency subsidiary of Olympia-Verlag, which will be developing attractive cross-media concepts together with BCN.
