  • #BEEBETTER – The Wild Bee Conservation Initiative

    n 2019, BurdaVerlag launched the #BEEBETTER initiative, which uses a national awareness campaign, strong partners, experts such as NABU and celebrity faces (including Uschi Glas, Steven Gätjen, Cassandra Steen) to educate people about the socially relevant topic of bee mortality and motivate them to actively protect bees (species protection).

    Through our print media alone, we were able to achieve over 117 million gross contacts through ad placement in 2021, raising awareness and providing information on this social issue.

    Strong alliances

    In 2021, together with partners, #BEEBETTER launched more than 800,000 bee-friendly plants (herbs, perennials, bulbs and asters) plus information material. Through the on air #BEEBETTER flowering party, more than 35,000 seed bags of 1 sqm flowering area seeds were distributed every year together with major radio stations, such as RPR1 and Radio Regenbogen. Sponsors also support through their own marketing activities by making #BEEBETTER visible.

    On our information platform www.beebetter.de as well as the associated social media channels, we regularly inform about current topics, campaigns and events, help out with info materials and how-to guides and thus ensure a continuously growing community and supporters. In addition, we honor the best projects for the protection of wild bees with the #BEEBETTER Award every year.
